Gamston Ladies Cricket

at Gedling and Sherwood

In 2009 Gedling and Sherwood CC launched a new initiative to attract Ladies to the club with the formation of a Ladies squad - named Gamston Ladies. This was a roaring success and by the end of 2009 we had one of the largest Senior Ladies’ Squads in South Notts. Our success led to a joint development programme, in conjunction with Notts County Cricket Club, in 2010.

A number of our Ladies have children at the Academy, and have taken the chance to learn the game while their kids are occupied.

The ladies section completed it's first full season of league cricket in the 2012 season showing the development that has been made in 3 years.

Due to a restructuring of the league system and loss of some resources the 2015 season saw us unable to complete the full season

We are now loking to focus on growing this section of the club in 2017 and are working in conjunction with Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club to work out the best way to move this section forwards. We have some very promising girls in our academy and would like to give them something to aspire to so are keen to increase our numbers and look to get the team playing league cricket again. Therefore, we are looking for new players with all levels of experience to assist us in getting this team going again.
